First off we have the launch of Communion in Glasgow on Thursday the 28th of April. Originally founded by Ben Lovett of Mumford & Sons fame, former Cherbourg bassist Kevin Jones and acclaimed producer Ian Grimble, Communion originally started way back in 2006 in London. The original premise of the evening was to provide a new platform for those within the London-scene, which unearthed both Laura Marling and Example.
In the years that have followed, Communion has expanded, with nights being put on across the UK and internationally as far and wide as New York and Sydney. Taking the blueprint of what has made Communion work so well Communion Records was founded in September 2009 priding themselves with working and cultivating a family of artists featuring Rachel Sermanni, Mumford and Son?s to Johnny Flynn.
On the 28th of April the night makes it first appearance in Glasgow with a headline show from Communion artist Ben Howard, plus support from Washington Irving and Kitty The Lion. Tickets for the gig are on sale now for the very reasonable sum of 7, you can pick one up here.
Further details on Communion can be found here.
